Coach Jacqui Simber-Softball
Hello, my name is Jacqui Simber and I have played and coached softball throughout the San Fernando Valley as well as in Texas. I was born and raised in California and while playing softball, I also took the time to coach youth. In my spare time I love to play co-ed softball, read and play with my daughter. I played division 1 softball at Boston College and went on to get my Master’s Degree in Sports Exercise Science from West Texas A&M University. Of all the sports I have played, softball was the sport I fell in love with. Before college I played many infield positions. During my career at Boston College I was able to play every position except for pitcher, catcher and first base. In 2001, my freshman year I made All Rookie Team and the All Conference Big East Second Team sophomore and junior year as well as All Conference Academic Team.
My love for the game has continued and will always be a part of me. I understand that each player I coach learns differently and I like to use different techniques in order for my players to gain more confidence in themselves. I don’t believe being a coach stops only on the field. I like to make sure that my players understand the importance of academics, respect for themselves and teammates and learning that purpose of the game isn’t winning and losing, but what they learned from a game/practice. I have coached kids from 5 years of age through the Division II College Level. My family practically grew up at Dodger’s Stadium so I guess you can say I am a huge fan.
